Community overview

Golf, horses, and grand-scale living.

Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club is one of northwest Ocala’s signature private communities — more than 1,200 acres of rolling hills in Marion County horse country, behind private gates with 24-hour security, where a championship golf course and a working equestrian center share the same grounds.

Ten residential neighborhoods range from low-maintenance villas and townhomes to custom estates on golf and lake frontage. The club describes the property as adjacent to the World Equestrian Center, and golf here is members only — so how a home, its neighborhood, and a club membership fit together matters as much as the house itself.

01

Tribute golf by Ron Garl

Designed by Ron Garl and first opened in the 1980s, the Original 18 (par 72, 7,130 yards from the championship tees) is famed for its eight tribute holes modeled on Augusta National, St. Andrews, Royal Troon, Baltusrol, and Muirfield — plus a newer 9 holes (par 36) for 27 in all.

02

A real equestrian center

Luxury stable suites in 4-, 6-, and 8-stall barns plus single stalls, two all-weather arenas, a full-sized dressage arena, oak-lined trails and bridle paths, and lessons in dressage, jumping, and flat riding.

03

Membership is its own decision

The club lists Golf, Young Executive, Sports, Social, National, and Corporate levels, is open to people who do not live in the community, and does not publish initiation fees or dues. Some neighborhoods may carry their own membership requirements — verify the details for a specific home with the club.

04

Next to the World Equestrian Center

The club describes its grounds as adjacent to the World Equestrian Center — the club address and the WEC grounds sit about a mile apart, with drive time varying by gate, entrance, and show season.

Ten neighborhoods, one gate

Find your fit inside Golden Ocala.

The club counts 10 neighborhoods inside the gates and details seven of them — from villas around mature oaks to custom estates with panoramic lake and golf views. Jennifer can walk you through which sections match your budget, lifestyle, and timeline — and alert you the moment something new lists.

Masters Village

Custom homes of 4,000+ square feet on about 0.67 to 1.5 acres, with some of the club’s most popular golf views.

Lakeside Village

The estate end of Golden Ocala — custom homes with panoramic lake and golf views and a 6,000-square-foot minimum of living space.

Eagles Landing

Townhomes and stand-alone villas of about 1,560 to 2,120 square feet around mature oaks — the most accessible entry behind the gates.

Clubside Village

Four floor plans of about 2,200 to 2,700 square feet within walking distance of club amenities.

The Residences

Attached two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath homes of about 1,900 square feet overlooking the 16th hole.

Brittany Estates & Foxhounds

Brittany Estates offers custom single-family homes with golf views in a wooded, rolling setting; Foxhounds offers homesites on and off the fairway with four floor plans to customize.

Neighborhood character, deed restrictions, equestrian allowances, and membership requirements vary by section and change over time. Jennifer tracks the community and can advise on current options.

Lifestyle & amenities

A full private club, at home.

Club amenities are for members — golf is members only and not open to the public. HOA fees vary by neighborhood (recent listings have shown roughly $800–$1,000 per quarter in some sections) and club dues are separate and not published; verify current figures per home with the association and the club.

27-hole championship golf

Original 18 plus a New 9 by Ron Garl, with tribute holes, a practice facility, golf shop, lessons, and a junior program.

Equestrian center

Stable suites and single stalls with turnout, wash stalls, and 24-hour barn security, plus arenas, trails, boarding, and lessons.

77,000 sq ft clubhouse

The centerpiece clubhouse anchors three restaurants, events, weddings, and member social life.

Tennis

Six lighted Har-Tru, Hydro-Grid courts with certified instructors, leagues, a junior program, and a pro shop.

Spa, salon & fitness

A 17,000-square-foot spa and fitness facility with massages, facials, a full-service salon, steam and sauna, trainers, and classes.

Resort-style pool

A heated, zero-entry pool with a hot tub, lounge areas, and poolside food and drink service.

Bridle paths & trails

About six miles of bridle paths and oak-lined trails ending at a lake view, with field riding beyond.

Beside the World Equestrian Center

Described by the club as adjacent to WEC’s show grounds — a short hop for competitors, trainers, and spectators in season.

Home styles

From villas to lakefront estates.

Golden Ocala’s range is its strength. Low-maintenance villas sit behind the same gates as custom golf estates — and neighborhood, deed restrictions, and membership status can change a home’s true cost as much as its square footage.

Financing paths worth exploring.

Jennifer can help qualified buyers compare mortgage options through NEXA Lending. The right program depends on the borrower, property, occupancy, income, credit and current guidelines.

Conventional financing

Qualified buyers may choose from fixed- or adjustable-rate conventional options with down-payment and mortgage-insurance requirements that vary by program.

Jumbo financing

Qualified buyers of higher-priced Golden Ocala estates may explore jumbo loan options, subject to borrower and property eligibility.

VA financing

Eligible veterans, active-duty service members and certain surviving spouses may qualify for VA financing, which may include a zero-down-payment option.

Custom-build financing

Qualified buyers building a custom home on a Golden Ocala homesite may explore construction-to-permanent options; program rules and availability vary.

Programs, rates, terms, loan limits and funding availability are subject to change. Not all borrowers, properties or communities will qualify. This is not a commitment to lend.
