Community overview

Beautiful lake, preserved land, room to build your way.

Bel-Lago — “beautiful lake” in Italian — is a gated, private lakefront and equestrian custom-estate community in southwest Marion County, off State Road 200 at 14130 SW 121st Ct, Dunnellon, FL 34432. Marketed as Ocala’s “Preservation Corridor,” it pairs natural lakes and historic oaks with homesites large enough for a true custom estate or farmstead.

Developed more than 20 years ago by Peter Rosbeck under a conservation-minded plan that preserved the property’s historic oaks, Bel-Lago was inspired by “Vivere alla Toscana” — living the Tuscan way. At build-out there will be no more than 120 custom estates across 600 acres, in four neighborhoods nestled around the lakes. In April 2026 the community began a new chapter when Camp Construction & Development, led by Ocala natives John and David Camp, purchased Bel-Lago.

Homesites & custom building

Choose your land. Build your estate.

Bel-Lago is a custom-build community: you start with the homesite — lakefront or farmstead — then build with one of its exclusive builders. That makes the lot decision just as important as the floor plan.

Land & lot loans

Qualified buyers purchasing a Bel-Lago homesite on its own may qualify for land or lot financing; down-payment, term, and acreage requirements vary by program.

Construction-to-permanent loans

Qualified buyers building with an exclusive builder may qualify for construction-to-permanent financing that covers the build and converts to a permanent loan; program rules and availability vary.

Jumbo financing

Qualified buyers of higher-priced Bel-Lago estates and larger custom builds may qualify for jumbo loan options, subject to borrower and property eligibility.

Conventional financing

Qualified buyers of an existing Bel-Lago estate may qualify for fixed- or adjustable-rate conventional options, with requirements that vary by program and occupancy.

Programs, rates, terms, loan limits and funding availability are subject to change. Not all borrowers, properties or communities will qualify. This is not a commitment to lend.
